Frequently Asked Questions
Answer:
Man men wear sheer socks. They have been around for years. Many men wear them for the exclusive style they offer, while others wear them for comfort as they are thin and non-constricting. Some feel they are sexy, and that they make a great fashion statement.
Answer:
No, not at this time. However some socks are customized for certain customer requests. Socks with designs or custom logos are also available. Most socks are purchased from wholesalers and a few are purchased direct from local stores for special requests and for those who are unable to find them in their area. If there is a type of socks you don't see, The Sock Man Socks & Shoes will try to find that sock for you as well.

Yes, we do carry larger size shoes. Some styles come in sizes up to size 15 (new shoes). However for shoes larger than size 15, they are only available in limited quantities and only in reconditioned (used) stock. As far as wide widths, some shoes are available in up to EEE width. Regular width is "D" width.
Answer:
Yes, used socks and shoes may be purchased at The Sock Man Socks & Shoes. Used socks, such as those used in model photo shoots, The Sock Man's personal socks, and others are available for purchase. This is often a great to get a favorite sock at a thrift store price and a good way to still sometimes get socks that were previously offered, but may be no longer available or discontinued by the manufacturer. Used socks are never shipped in place of new ones, only by customer request. Used (reconditioned) shoes may also be purchased at The Sock Man Socks & Shoes. This is an affordable way

Answer:
Well this is a good question. Some say yes, some say no. Personally my feet sweaty in any socks, nylon or cotton. I think what makes the difference is that cotton absorbs more of the moisture from the foot whereby nylon or rayon absorb less. Also cotton allows more of an evaporating effect than does nylon or rayon. The down side is that cotton, and wool socks as well, while they keep feet dryer, they don't last as long as they tend to wear at the point where the shoe rubs the back of the heel, and also cotton socks, particularly dark colors, tend to fade quicker. Nylon will last for years without fading. Mercerized cotton on the other is a good compromise between nylon and cotton. You get the feel and absorbency of cotton with the stylish look of nylon. The drawback however is that mercerized cotton will fade over time an also and they tend to be lent magnets.
Answer:
While most people simply throw their fine dress socks in the wash then the dryer, that is not recommended. For longer wear and less fuzz balls and loss of elasticity, I recommend hand washing your fine socks in a mild solution of either Woolite or if that is not available, liquid hand soap or dish detergent. After washing lightly wring out socks by hand then hang by the toes and allow to either drip or line dry. Because of this I have sheer nylon socks that are over 10 years old and look great.
